We are opening our doors to children in greater Copenhagen in August 2020. We are an approved international school in Copenhagen, Denmark (DK) by Ministry of Children and Education Denmark.
Our core program is based on the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). VIS is a member school of the global community of schools following International Primary Curriculum (IPC).

Principal/ School Leader: Viking International School
This position arises in Viking International Preschool in Copenhagen, Denmark for experienced and enthusiastic School Leader.
We are a new international school with English as main language of instruction and Danish as second language. Our core curriculum is International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and we strive to integrate STEM teaching approach into the Primary School.

We are a small school, hence a part of your time will also be hands-on teaching in the classroom. In the initial year, this position will be for 30-32 hours /week.
Responsibilities:
Educational Leadership:
- Enhancement of overall curriculum with contemporary global practices and focus areas periodically, in consultation with Board and teachers
- Ensuring implementation within overall curriculum framework and specified timeline
Staff Management:
- Personnel management in each department including putting focus on employees' professional and personal development
- Setting goals and formulating work expectations as well as motivate and build commitment
- Managing schedules
- Taking part in institution’s hiring process, in consultation with the School Board
Classroom Management:
- Ensure teaching team has the required resources and learning environment is attractive, inviting, safe and secure
- Lead classroom teaching for specific areas and year-groups when necessary
- Hands-on guidance to teachers, whenever necessary
Administration:
- Main contact point for the school
- Handle end-to-end admission process and pipeline
- Other administrative responsibilities
Communication:
- Build good, open and constructive communication with children, families, Parent Committee, School Board and staff
- Handle communication with external authorities (Ministries, kommune, other organisations with which we cooperate/ we have affiliations)
- Initiate and lead external communications of VIS (blogs, social media, other media presence)
Language, education and experience requirements:
Mandatory:
- Master’s degree in education, science or similar
- High level fluency in English (Minimum C2 level; IELTS band 8 and above). Please do not apply if you do not have minimum C2 level fluency.
- Minimum 10 years’ teaching experience in school (preferably early years) is required. Preference will be given to candidates with international school experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in handling teams
- Tech-savvy who can quickly adapt to digital environment
Preferred:
- High-level fluency in Danish language is advantageous
- Candidates with experience in STEM/ build and execution of STEM roadmap will be given preference
- Candidates with MIEE certification will be preferred or willing to complete MIEE certification within a short time

- Creative and truly passionate to work with children while being extremely patient and caring
- Person who is culturally sensitive and thrives in truly international environment
- Enthusiastic, Proactive and flexible to cover/ lead tasks typical for a small but dynamic organisation
